GEORGES GOALS...
**Click the  to hear the play by play in either RealMedia (RM) which is a smaller file OR as a MUCH LARGER to download (wav) file)

Oct 29/99: vs Dallas.   George stepped in over the blue line & ripped a wrist shot over the shoulder of Ed Belfour.
RM - , Wav -
Jan 28/00: vs. Tampa Bay.  Outmuscled Svejkovsky behind the net, came around & tucked it under Cloutiers arm.  This came less than a minute after the Oil went down 3-1.  Georges goal sparked a string of 6 unanswered Oiler goals.
RM - , Wav -
Feb 08/00: vs Montreal.  Laraque went hard to the net and swatted in a loose puck.  It was nice for him to score in his home town in front of 55 of his personal guests, including his Mom who saw him play in the NHL for the first time "live".
Feb 21/00:  vs LA Kings.  #1: Starts the play with a nifty pass gets the puck back in front of the goal and puts it home with the backhand for his first ever goal at home.
RM - , Wav -
Feb 21/00:  vs LA Kings.  #2: Does his job and gets in front of the net, where he was alot tonight.  Deflects in a hard Hamrlik shot from the slot.
RM - , Wav -
Feb 21/00:  vs LA Kings.  #3: Now this was unbelievable, with just a few seconds left Georges gets the puck and puts on a beautiful move and lifts a backhand over the Kings goalie. This was a highlight reel goal by anyone's standards!!       *****FIRST NHL HAT TRICK FOR GEORGES!!****
RM - , Wav -
Mar 04/00:  vs Pittsburgh.  A viable force all night. Georges spins, grabs a rebound off a Guerin shot, patiently waits & plants it behind Aubin.
Mar 07/00:  vs Toronto.  Georges was waiting in front of the net patiently and ends up poking in a rebound under the goalies legs.
Sept 16/00:  vs Ottawa (pre-season game).  Georges went to the net, and muscled a Jason Smith slapshot rebound in.
RM - , Wav -
Oct 22/00:   vs Phoenix.  Georges was set up right in front of the net and fired it wide.  Instead of hanging his head, he went after the puck, skated around the net and fired an absoloutely beautiful shot into the top right corner from a tough angle.
Nov 19/00:   vs Calgary.  Georges second goal of the year was another important one.  Actually, it was the game winner.  He took a nice Todd Marchant feed, held it just long enough and snapped a wrister it by Mike Vernon.
RM - , Wav -
Dec 02/00: #1 vs Vancouver.  Georges parked himself in front of the net and when the self-proclaimed god of Hockey, Donald Brashear, left him all alone he recieved a pass, made a quick little move and buried the backhand.
Dec 02/00: #2 vs Vancouver.  On a powerplay Georges collected the puck in the corner, skated out towards the blueline and made a nice little move to open up a ton of room where he was able to snap a nice shot from the circle for his 2nd goal of the night.
RM - , Wav -
Dec 18/00: vs Detroit.  Georges' 5th goal came against the wings on a hard work play.  He brought the puck in and started the play which led to him firing a shot that just slithered by the goalie.  It almost held up as his 2nd game winner but the Wings got a late one to tie it up.
RM - , Wav -
Dec 20/00: vs Vancouver.  Georges seems to have Vancouver's number.  This is his third goal against this team this month.  Georges had been flying all night and missed some pretty good chances.  On this one he was able to tip a point shot up over Essensa for the first goal of the Oiler comeback.
RM - , Wav -
Jan 01/01: vs St. Louis.  Georges went to the front of the net, took an Ethan Moreau pass and banged it in the net on his second effort.  Seven goals before the A.S. break puts Georges on a pace to shatter last years total of 8.
Jan 14/01: vs Ottawa.  Georges was waiting in front of the net, and took a great pass from Mike Comrie, which he wristed point blank at Lalime.  It looked like Lalime had made the stop, but the puck trickled under his pad and across the line by 2 inches.  Georges has already tied last years 8 goal total and on pace for a great season.
RM - , Wav - (watchit - this wav's 2mb!)
Mar 09/01: vs Buffalo (2 goals).  #1:  Georges had been going through a bit of a goal drought before this one.  He went to the net and directed a Rem Murray pass past Dominic Hasek.
RM - , Wav - (1mb)
#2: Another multi goal game for Georges.  This one was much the same, he just went to the net and whacked it in.  Hey it doesn't have to be pretty to count.
RM - , Wav - (1.1mb)
Mar 11/01: vs Carolina.  Georges pressured the D-man behind the net, grabbed the puck and calmly wrapped it around and beat Irbe for his 3rd goal in 2 games.
RM - , Wav - (1mb)
Mar 30/01: vs Dallas (Goal #1).  Georges gets the puck while he's going across the slot and fires a backhand past Ed Belfour.  Georges, who had been uncharacteristically calm in some of his recent goal celebrations, was anything but calm celebrating this one in his old manner.
RM - , Wav - (1mb)
Mar 30/01: vs Dallas (Goal #2).  After the Stars came within 1 goal Georges got the puck at the side boards and did it all himself, walking into the slot and putting a wrist shot past Belfour for an unassissted marker and his 3rd multi-goal game of the season.  Again Georges celebrated this one in the fashion we all love.
RM - , Wav - (1mb)
Apr 14/01: vs Dallas (First Career Playoff Goal).  Less than a minute after Dallas took the lead 2-1 Georges was putting pressure on Dallas in front of the net.  Belfour was sprawled out after attempting to cover up a Ryan Smyth shot and Georges ended up taking a great pass from Tom Poti who was behind the net and put it in the now empty net for his first ever post season goal.
Oct 20/01: vs Florida.  Georges got out on the power play, parked himself in front of the net and banged home a nice feed from Marchant who was behind the net.
Oct 22/01: vs Nashville.  Again Georges got good position in front of the net and made a beauty deflection on an Eric Brewer  point shot.
Nov 22/01: vs Los Angeles.  Georges won the battles with the puck along the boards again tonight.  He came out into the middle and backhanded a nice goal through Storr's pads.
Nov 28/01: vs Anaheim.  Georges got the puck in the corner, muscled his way into the slot, took a bunch of cross checks and buried a beauty goal.
Jan 12/02: vs Colorado. Georges gets a partial breakaway, protects the puck well and sneaks one through the pads of Patrick Roy.  This goal ended a long goal scoring drought and his celebration showed it.
Oct 10/02: vs Philladelphia.  With the Oil down 2-0 in the 3rd period Georges scores his first goal of the season.  He planted a Marchant rebound with a wicked wrist shot high over Chechmanek.
RM - , MP3 - , Wav -
Dec 13/02: vs Colorado.  Just getting on the ice for his shift Georges skates into the slot and takes a pass. His first shot hit the post but he banged in his own rebound. Quite the celebration followed as this was Georges first game back after missing 5 with his elbow laceration. RM - , MP3 - , Wav -
Dec 28/02: vs Toronto.  Georges went around a leaf defenceman and beat Belfour to the puck, made a nice move and slid the puck into an empty net as he was falling down.
Jan 13/03: vs Columbus.  1st goal - After some good cycling Georges comes out from behind the net, kicks a loose puck to his stick, waits and burries the puck top corner.  RM - , MP3 - , Wav -
Jan 13/03: vs Columbus.  2nd goal - Georges best ever goal.  He held the puck for about 30 seconds fighting guys off behind the net, came out and was stopped on his first chance but roofed a backhand.  The place went nuts.
RM - , MP3 - , Wav (4.4 mb but worth it!) -
Mar 11/03: vs Calgary. Georges was working hard in front of the net to get position on Lowry.  He got it and was able to direct a pass behind Turek for the game winner.
Apr 12/03: vs Dallas (Game 3 of 1st Round Playoffs). Georges took a feed deep behind the goal line and skated out front to put the puck between Turco's pads. This was a huge goal in the 3rd period which tied up the game.  The Oilers got momentum from this and went on to score 2 more goals & win the game.
Jan 29/04: vs Chicago (first goal of the season!). Georges fed Moreau a nice pass and went to the front of the net to deflect Moreau's backhander past the goalie. 1st goal in 47 games but no jump into the glass because he wasn't sure he was going to get credit for it.
Jan 31/04: vs LA (second goal of the season - back to back games!). Georges caused a turnover on the forecheck, then when a King was going to clear the puck Georges tied up his stick so Bishai could grab the puck and feed it back to Georges for a nice goal, followed by an epic glass leap.
RM - , MP3 -
Feb 11/04: vs ATL (third goal of the season). Georges played well all night but on this shift Ryan Smyth was on his line. Ryan was parked behind the goal crease and Georges sent a nice pass back to him & went for the net with his stick down. Ryan sent the puck back to Georges right on the tape and Georges tapped in a beauty. One of the nicer give and goes of this season.
Mar 2/04: vs PHO (4th goal of the season) Georges was working hard in front of the net, fighting off their D, fell, got up, found the puck in his skates, skated around the defenceman and fired a beauty past Boucher. An all around great effort.
Mar 10/04: vs COL (5th goal of the season)Out on the PP Georges backs away from his man in front of the net and calls for the puck. Smyth feeds him from behind the net and Georges makes no mistake on the one timer to tie up the game.
Mar 16/04: vs CBJ (6th goal of the season)Georges made a great play along the boards to keep the puck in the zone. He moves in front of the goalie & deflects Ethan Moreau's shot into the net.
